I hope 2022 is being good to you and that you’re gaining traction on your goals as the new year kicks in.

Here are a few stories I want to share to help inform your thinking as you motor through January:

  • Erika Kotite wrote a feature, “The Business of Listening” for SmallBusiness Currents and included quotes from me in the article. I love how she captures the key differentiators between the Owlthena listening service and executive coaching. BTW, we’re going to be folding Owlthena into Digital Brand Expressions and repositioning it as a value-added service for our clients. Watch for news on this over the next two months.
  • Did you see the story last month about why Bob Iger was leaving Disney? Here’s an insightful look at what he shared. I have the utmost respect for someone who is so self-aware that they can see when they’re hindering progress, regardless of how painful that admission may be. Hats off and best wishes to Bob Iger as he continues his amazing journey.
  • I had shared with my team one day last month that I was feeling pulled in many different directions and having a real challenge focusing. Natalie Lorenzo shared this from Scientific American. It’s very long, but well worth the time investment. It helped me think about ways to refocus and I was able to reframe some of the challenges to make them more sortable and easier to prioritize. Thanks Natalie!
  • Google shared Consumer Trends from 2021. Each trend links to more info. Good fodder for business leaders.

Do Good Spotlight on: Oscar’s Place

We loved what we learned about this donkey rescue mission and the good works they’re doing to help these lovable animals get a second chance. Special thanks to Erika Kotite for telling us about Oscar’s Place. We donated and here’s where you can learn more and donate too.

And that’s a wrap for the first issue of What’s Hot Wednesday for Business Leaders for 2022. I hope you are staying strong and staying focused. Reach out if there’s anything I can do to help you be your best self for your team and your business.
