November is in full swing, and–can you believe it? –we’re just weeks away from the start of 2022! No time to waste: here are the digital marketing stories our team is pointing you to this week, and please check out our Do Good Spotlight, it’s shining on the Princeton YMCA’s Breast Cancer Research Center:

  • Estimates from eMarketer on the continued growth of Facebook ad revenues despite iOS users adopting Apple’s AppTrackingTransparency (ATT) framework: Good details, worth the read.
  • Google will be rolling out page experience ranking updates to desktop search results in the 1st QTR next year. These experience ranking signals will be similar to the ones Google rolled out for mobile pages earlier this year. While this is not a surprise, it does reinforce how Google is factoring UX as an element of its somewhat-secret-sauce for rankings.
  • Aren’t we all on the hunt for good deals around the holiday season? Google has a new “Deals” menu in the Google Shopping tab to help bargain shoppers. Not only is it great for shoppers, but business owners will be able to measure the performance of their deals! Definitely worth checking out! ?
  • The Content Marketing Institute has published its 12th Annual B2B Content Marketing Report. It includes 54 pages of benchmarks, budgets, trends and insights for 2022. FYI, SEO and analytics were the top two content-related areas of importance heading into the new year. Video and paid media were two of the top 4 areas predicted for B2B content marketing investment in 2022.
  • Google added Smart Bidding for store sales to optimize bids for offline transactions, which will be good for businesses during this holiday season.
  • Lenna lives on, and on, and on…and what about your images and posts? This ponder piece is from Pudding.
  • We’ve seen direct-to-consumer brands grow and change the way consumers buy (think Warby Parker, Bonobos, okay, you’ve got it now…). As these brands grow, they need an exit (merger, acquisition…) but what does that mean for the brand and the business? Check out Retail Dives’ deep dive on DTC brand exit strategies.

Do Good Spotlight: The Princeton YMCA’s Breast Cancer Research Center

YWCA Princeton’s Breast Cancer Resource Center helps answer the tough questions, provides guidance for the difficult decisions, and supports people through mentoring, fitness & wellness activities, transportation, and so much more when breast cancer becomes part of their lives. The Resource Center is for those newly diagnosed, long time survivors, those coping with metastatic disease, and those who care about and for them. We learned about this center via Dr. Matthew Lynch and Rosemary Fox of the New Jersey Breast Surgery practice who regularly support this not-for-profit. We’re amazed and made a donation. Here’s where you can learn more.

Okay, that’s it for this week. Put your skates on and roll through the rest of the week!
